Michael MacDonald is entering his second season as the head coach of the men's and women's squash programs at Connecticut College.

Mike brings a diverse coaching history, having been a trailblazer in the Chicago area squash community. Since 2012, Mike has been the assistant squash professional at the University Club of Chicago. He acted as the assistant tournament director for the Windy City Open, the world's second-largest professional squash tournament. In 2017, Mike became the squash professional at the East Bank Club in Chicago, providing tailored instruction to members. For two years at Franklin & Marshall College, Mike directed the Squash ACES programs which provided squash and educational support to underserved students from local public schools. He has worked with collegiate players, volunteering with the club team at the University of Chicago.

Mike was the squash director at MetroSquash in Chicago, an organization that hosted practice and competition for over 150 young squash players. In 2016, MacDonald was given the opportunity to establish a squash program at Beacon Academy which quickly gained popularity. By the next season, MacDonald had founded the Chicagoland Squash Conference for Chicago-area high school squash programs, acting as league administrator.

Mike played collegiate squash at nationally-ranked Denison University. He received a BA in economics and environmental studies and graduated in 2009. In 2016, he received his masters' degree in Sports Administration from Northwestern University, where he was elected Student Board President. Mike lives in West Hartford, Connecticut with his wife, Hannah.

The squash curriculum will cover all areas of the game, themed each day, with match play in the afternoons. Off court, campers will take part in all-camp meals and recreational and residential activities. It is our goal to have each girl leave the camp improved as a squash player and more empowered young woman.

Emma Moore will assist Mike. She attended Blair Academy where her father Jim is an English teacher and the head squash coach. She attended Blair and the University of Rochester (where her family is originally from). At U of R she majored in English literature and Psychology and played squash. She was captain of the club level team.

For the past two years she has been in the associate teacher program at Greens Farms Academy and the head girls' squash coach. She also worked at Green Farms's summer camp and has experience as a residential advisor for international students in the summer program at Besant Hill School in California.
